SUNDAY (EASTER DAY) 12 APRIL 2009

Come and be entertained and inspired by two and a half hours of wonderful sacred music, gospel songs and hymn singing in Toowoomba’s majestic Empire Theatre.

 

Under the baton of Concert Director, Helen Earley, a 120 voiced massed choir will present in the first half of the concert some well known choruses including 

 

           “All Heaven Declares”  Tom Fettke

“Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”  Bach

“Crown Him the Risen King” Lloyd Larsen

 

   as well as leading the audience in the singing of three favourite hymns.

 

Also appearing will be a number of guest artists including:

 

 Phillip Prendergast, Marianne Hanson, Caroline Drury

Emma Cerqui, Erin McLellan, Marina Salomon, Matthew Collins, Jesse Wright

 

and featuring special guest artists: 

   

 Pianist and Clarinetist:  MATTHEW COLLINS 

&

THE HELEN EARLEY ENSEMBLE

 

The second half of the concert will feature the massed choir and soloists in the  powerful Easter Musical

                

 ”FORSAKEN”

 

 

“FORSAKEN” is a reflection on and commeration of the last days of God’s Messiah, to help us fully understand the events of Christ’s last week on earth and to help us all worship the risen Saviour.

 

The Easter Praise concert concludes with the traditional finale

 

                  “The Hallelujah Chorus”
